Drake Commissary, Toronto
Illuminated rocks are mined by two spirit sisters, braided together, dressed in metallic robes. The sisters slowly circle the room, serving nothing but extracted edible gold on their opulent trays. Treasures are hidden in wax, braided bread is dusted with sparkles, ash-trays become candelabras in this communal re-enchantment of dining. Alchemical transformations spark wonder and begin to nourish the body as day turns to night, and reception turns to ritual.
